I don’t know about you guys, but I get this question a lot from my friends. They always ask me „So, have you seen any good movies lately? I’m bored”. And I always reply with „Let me check my list from Netflix” because that’s where I look when I need inspiration on what movies to see. And just as I mentioned in one of my previous articles, I make sure to check the New and Popular category and add to my list the ones that I’m interested in watching. This way I don’t skip or forget about any show I want to see.
To be perfectly honest I love receiving this question because I love recommending movies/series to other people and getting this question means that they trust my taste in movies or series and that is to me one of the best compliments I could receive.
I wanted to recommend to you guys a few movies on Netflix that you most definitely should add to your list.
Here it goes:
Prisoners
Granted, I’m not a parent, but I can only imagine the horrible feeling a parent must have when they realize their children have been kidnapped. They probably have a million things and questions going through their head, not knowing what to do next. „Why is this happening?” „Who could have possibly done this?” „Did I do something to cause this?” and the flow of questions is endless at this point.
I loved the psychological aspect of the movie and every single scene was filled with emotions that kept me on my toes. The tension in this movie was palpable and you could simply cut it with a knife. That’s what made this movie very interesting to watch and different from others with a similar plot.
Grab your favorite snack, watch this movie and feel free to let me know what you think.
Army of Thieves
If I had to describe this movie in one word that would be: exciting or thrilling. Because one thing it’s for sure: this movie it’s not boring or mainstream and I know you guys (like me) are tired of seeing basically the same movies over and over again, but with different actors.
Who wants an ordinary life? Who wants to work a 9-17 job and be stuck forever in a state of numbness and have their soul crushed? Not a safe cracker that’s for sure. And what does our safe cracker do in this case? Goes on this adventure that involves robbing banks in the middle of a zombie invasion and that ladies and gents, that classifies as an amazing movie.

To all the boys I’ve loved before
I know what everyone is thinking „But this is such an overrated movie and has nothing special to offer.” Well I beg to differ. And here’s why. This might be just a personal, more subjective opinion because one of my biggest fears in high school was to let any boy know that I liked him. I would do anything to hide any trace of that and I actually ignored the boys I thought were cute. Yes I was shy (still am a little bit), yes I was hiding in my shell and yes I am a Cancer.
And that’s why I related to this movie so much. When I tell you I understood 110% why Lara Jean was trying to do anything in her power to hide those letters and hide the fact that she ever had feelings for those boys, it’s so true it’s not even funny. I know for some people this might be a „silly” rom-com, but I believe it’s a really funny story, relatable for some of us and not to mention that between the characters was a chemistry that’s undeniable.
I would recommend you to watch all three movies from this series, but start with the first one and let me know what you think.
A perfect pairing
Of course we’re going to continue with another rom-com movie since we’re on a roll here. One that I really enjoyed watching. Let’s face it, guys. Rom-coms cannot be 100% original at this time. No one can reinvent the wheel. What I look for when I choose to see this type of movie is a cute story line, very good chemistry between the characters and relatable topics.
Who here did not have issues with their boss at their 9-17 job? Who did not have any co-worker take credit for a task they did not do? Who did not think to quit their job and start their own business? These topics are relatable to me and that’s why I loved this movie.
Check this movie out and let me know in the comments what you think.
The weekend away
One thing about me: I love me a murder mystery movie any hour of the day. And this one took the cake because first and foremost we have Leighton Meester playing the main character and we all know queen B. can do no wrong. Yes, I am a Gossip Girl fan and I’ll always be.
The scenario is so simple…it’s perfect. Going on a trip with your best friend, naturally you’re having fun, dancing, exploring the city and so on…and BOOM (no, not an actual BOOM) but something happens and your best friend goes missing. I put myself in that situation and I would simply go insane. There are so many twists and turns in this movie and that’s what made it awesome and exciting to watch.
I can’t wait to see what you guys think. Let me know in the comments.
This is a small list of movies I recommend, but if you guys have any other ideas/suggestions of movies/series I should watch and write about them, please let me know.
